Who we are

Mary Louise Fisher was a Cincinnati Reds fan who LOVED baseball and especially Pete Rose.  She was not, however, fond of her name—she said it sounded like an old cow.  When her daughter introduced her to a boyfriend he asked what she would like to be called and she said anything but Mary.  He laughingly said he thought he’d call her Pete and it stuck.  Her grandkids knew her always as Pete or Petey as did their friends, her daughter's friends, and folks she just met—she never knew a stranger.

RePete’s is named in memory of her.  There is a history of non-profits in the family; Pete’s mother, Marie Vollmer, ran a clothing non-profit called The Semi-New Shop in the small town in which they lived.  Mary’s daughter has operated two non-profits previously and currently operates another in addition to RePete’s. Mary dedicated many years to serving her United Methodist Church in women’s groups, Sunday school classes, fundraising, VBS, music and a variety of other charitable events.

RePete’s mission is simple—if you would give it to your child/family member or a friend to wear, we would love to have it!  Our “kids” deserve to have clothing that they are proud and excited to wear.  We are serving birth through high school graduation so we need adult sizes as well (since middle and high school kids are grown up sized) but we do not serve adults.

Thank you for your support as we launch this new service for those in our community experiencing hardship.

Warmly,

The RePete Crew
